JOY
Joy Comes from God
Psalm 16:11 (ESV):
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
True joy is found in God’s presence. Joy is not just a feeling—it’s a deep, abiding delight that comes from a relationship with Him.
Joy Is a Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV):
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..."
Joy is a result of the Holy Spirit working in a believer’s life. It’s evidence of God’s presence and transformation within us.
Joy in Trials
James 1:2-3 (ESV):
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness."
Christians are encouraged to find joy even in difficult times because trials help us grow in faith and endurance.
Joy Is Different from Happiness
John 16:22 (ESV):
"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you."
Biblical joy is not dependent on circumstances. Unlike happiness, which can come and go, joy remains because it is rooted in Christ.
Rejoice Always
Philippians 4:4 (ESV):
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."
Paul encourages believers to rejoice continually, regardless of their situations, because their source of joy is the Lord.
